Fifth Dimension Chocolates Wins Two Prizes at Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017

PRESS RELEASE

Self-taught British chocolatier Fifth Dimension Chocolates has won two prizes at this year’s Academy of Chocolate Awards for their luxury filled chocolates handmade using fine-flavour single-origin cacao.

The London-based independent producer was awarded a Silver for their unique Mint & Miso filled chocolate, which was introduced last Autumn and is themed on Sydney’s popular fusion cuisine. The Small Business Saturday UK Champion also gained a Bronze for their Coffee Caramel, meaning that all six of their handcrafted caramel filled chocolates are now medalists from one of the industry's top national or international competitions.

Fifth Dimension Chocolates’ co-founders Russell Pullan and Albert Chau are renowned for pushing sensory boundaries with their fine chocolates, which are created by pairing diverse flavours and textures with ingredients inspired by their travels and culinary experiences.

Their Silver award-winning Mint & Miso filled chocolate shaped like Sydney Opera House reflects the multi-cultural Australian city’s culinary style of combining typical flavours from very different parts of the world to offer something new and exciting. Co-founder Albert explained, “We were surprised to see miso used in cooking with lamb once, and as mint is a well-known pairing with lamb we thought we’d give this unusual combination a try. We are delighted that the Academy of Chocolate Awards’ judges enjoyed this filled chocolate with a savoury touch as much as we do!”

Both of Fifth Dimension Chocolates’ newly-crowned Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017 title-holders are available in the artisan chocolatier’s array of filled chocolate boxes, such as the “Journey Box” ideal for those with a sense of adventure, and the “Caramel Box” packed with prize-winners. All of the luxury chocolate boxes can be ordered from Fifth Dimension Chocolates’ website (5dchocolates.com) with the option to hand-pick a bespoke selection from the full collection of flavours, and a personalised message can be added to any box for an extra special individual gift.

Fifth Dimension Chocolates’ double win at 2017’s Academy of Chocolate Awards marks the third year in a row that the self-taught chocolatier has been commended at the Academy’s annual competition, which attracts entries from all over the world and is judged by a panel of experts in chocolate and food, chefs and international journalists. Since launching their business in late 2013, Fifth Dimension Chocolates has won more than 20 accolades across several prestigious industry contests, including the International Chocolate Awards World Finals, Great Taste Awards and Academy of Chocolate Awards.
