This year is the third year we've entered the International Chocolate Awards, and we've been lucky to have won awards every year at the British National round of this competition. This year's results were announced on 6th June 2017.
We are very happy that this year we have won 2 Gold awards and 1 Bronze awards. All 3 chocolates are new additions to our filled chocolates collection in the last 12 months:
- "Cape Town" (Curry & Raisins Chocolate) won a Gold award in the "Milk chocolate ganaches or truffles" category. The inspiration of this chocolate was based on the South African dish Bobotie. The chocolate was first unveiled at the Small Business Saturday UK launch event in July 2016, and it's a collaboration with fellow Small Biz 100 Spice Kitchen.
- "Rio de Janeiro" (Banana Cardamom Caramel Chocolate) won a Gold award in the "Milk chocolate enrobed caramels" category. This is a new chocolate we developed earlier this year, after our visit to the beautiful city of Rio last Christmas, and it is now available in our personal selection boxes. This is our 7th caramel-based chocolate to have won an award.
- "Sydney" (Mint & Miso Chocolate) won a Bronze award in the "Ganaches or truffles using mixed dark/milk.white for coating and fillings " category. This is another award-winning savoury chocolate of ours, and earlier this year it's also won a Silver award at the Academy of Chocolate awards.
